Fave Female Artists

A couple of months ago I shared 3 of my favourite female artists past & present who used their work as a way to express their own personal feelings towards Feminism or lack there of.

I got a great response from people learning about those female artists that they might never have come across otherwise. So, I thought I would do another post! This time I have focused on female artists who’s work I have found through Instagram, who I am now obsessed with!

These women are just doing there own thing, with very different styles & mediums and are doing it well! I think everyone should know about these artists and their work, so here they are (including links to their Instagrams), hope you love them as much as I do!

Pot Yer Tits Away Luv

Pot Yer Tits Away Luv is one of the champions of #freethenipple and uses clay as her medium. She creates pots & illustrations all around the theme of female breasts. I personally love the work as we as women very rarely get to see boobs that aren’t movie screen perfect. I love the fact that she creates artwork showing all the different shapes, sizes, colours that the female breast can be. By showing them off, to me it’s making a statement. Here’s some boobs, so what? I

have bought one of her prints and I hope to one day bag myself one of the pots too! Most people would say, well why do you want that? My answer, why not?

Caroline Dowsett

I found Caroline Dowsett on Instagram and I have been obsessed with her work ever since. Bright, minimal with hidden messages. Her Bee for the Bee in the city campaign is easily my favourite & she’s now also the featured artist in the Fred Aldous window in Manchester’s Northern Quarter.

Her canvases are available for purchase and I am going to try and own one for myself as soon as I can!

Sarah Crosby

Sarah is another local artist to the Manchester area and her chosen medium is ceramics, making plates that could be hung on any wall in your home. I especially love her ceramic paper plates collection.

With her recent new works of usable dinnerware, I can’t wait to see what else she makes. Hopefully I’ll be able to buy a set for myself one day!

Hope you enjoy their work as much as I do & please let me know in the comments of any amazing female artists that you love!
