As I sit here writing it’s cold, rainy and I’m wearing one of my biggest oversized jumpers. (By far my favourite way to spend an afternoon!) I realised that we are at the time of year, where all you want is cosy comfort food.
What better food to bring all the cosy vibes than a good old roast dinner? Whilst we all know that nothing compares to our family roasts, Manchester has some amazing spots in to enjoy some of the best roasts you can find. So, I thought this would be the perfect time to share them with you & maybe you can enjoy them too! I have 3 spots that I think serve not only the best roasts I have ever eaten, but they have the full package. Although I am a meat eater, all three also offer a vegetarian version of a Roast Dinner too. These 3 places are cosy, affordable & truly unique.
First up Bock Beire!
They offer lots of amazing food, but the one it’s probably most famous for is it gravy fondue! A high quality roast dinner for two that comes with its own pot of delicious warm meat gravy! What more could you want on a cold and rainy Sunday?
This Belgian fondue restaurant serves some of the most delicious foods, European beers and the best intimate ski lodge vibes, that you will find in the city centre.
Next up is my personal favourite, The Clarence!
This stunning pub / bistro can be found in my home town of Bury, just outside Manchester, and serves one of the best roasts you can find. You can get a traditional dinner, or a chef’s special with extras. Including; mash, more gravy, cheesy cauliflower bake & a Yorkshire pudding stuffed with braised beef & gravy!
Their food is of the highest quality and can be enjoyed in their stunning dining room. Once your full up, you can enjoy a warming cocktail in their leather chairs next to the open fire. (I’m almost certain you won’t find a cosier spot!)
Last but not least is The Refuge.
This stunning restaurant might not necessarily be classed a cosy, as it is huge. But, it does serve one of the best roast dinners you can find in Manchester. You can choose from chicken, beef of pork and it’s topped of with its infamous Vimto braised red cabbage (it’s even better than you would think!) It’s dining area has gorgeous booth seating and there is plenty of space to enjoy a cocktail in the bar area once your finished!
If anyone knows of anywhere else in the city that would be a perfect spot to enjoy a roast dinner, let me know. Or let me know the best places where you live! x
