Barton arcade has always been one of my favourite spots in Manchester. This is one of the prettiest buildings you will find in the city centre.
Tucked away inside, along with a barbers, deli & tailors, is PKB (Pot Kettle Black). This cafe come community space is loved by many, not just for its food but for its seriously good coffee.
I’ve been wanting to try out Pot Kettle Black for a while and recently I finally got round to trying their brunch menu. As a newly converted caffeine addict, I also wanted to try their much raved about coffee.
We stopped by on a Sunday afternoon and I can safely say that my boyfriend and I now love this little spot.
I’m currently trying my hardest to get in a bit better shape for summer. This can mean that I sometimes dread going out for food and not being able to order something that is both tasty & healthy.
Thankfully, that isn’t an issue at PKB. They offer a few different health conscious choices, including smoothly bowls & salads. I opted for the coconut milk porridge with rhubarb compote and brown sugar and cinnamon sprinkle.
This might not look like much, but it was SO delicious. Even the boyfriend loved it, which actually says a lot!
He tried out the scrambled egg with wild mushrooms & truffle oil on sourdough. Although any type of mushroom is my worst nightmare, it smelt amazing and my boyfriend loved it.
They’re breakfast menu has lots of choice, but their specials & Lunch menu looks just as good! But, if you are in the city centre & you just fancy a quick sit down, with a decent brew, then you have to try out the PKB coffee. They take it seriously & its bloody lovely!
For the amazing location & quality of food, PKB is probably one of the most affordable spots in this part of the city centre! Its definitely worth adding to your ‘to-eat’ list!
