The Bay Horse Tavern – Review

If avocado smash & grilled lettuce is your idea of millennial tosh, then the Bay Horse Tavern is going to be your new favourite place.

This little tavern, in the centre of the Northern Quarter, underwent modernisation & serves decent food & ale to all who want it.

Throughout the NQ & Ancoats, you will find artisan bakeries, Neapolitan pizzas, independent donut makers & breweries. But, if you want a full English & a strong cup of coffee for your breakfast this weekend, then the Bay Horse Tavern will be your home away from home.

It’s Victorian interior & traditionally English menu is actually unique in this area of town.

On any given weekend, Evelyn’s, Ezra & Gil & Mackie Mayor will be packed to the rafters (something I have encountered a few times) and on a particularly rainy Saturday, Bay Horse Tavern was the only place with a free table. And I’m so glad it did.

If it wasn’t for the crowds of people flocking to all the usual spots, I would have stumbled across this place and found another spot to enjoy a decent brunch. Its been a long time since I enjoyed a proper full English.

It wasn’t on my Manchester places ‘to-try’ list, but I 100% recommend you add it to yours!
