If you follow me on Twitter or Instagram you may already know that I have recently been doing a bit of adulting and bagged myself some new dinnerware.
The pictures & tweets got a huge response, so, I decided to turn this haul into a post (not just because I love my new plates) I want to tell everyone about these little bargains! I have included links to all the different brands & I’ve included a few alternatives. If your thinking of stepping up your plate game, I hope this helps!
I wanted to share, because not only were they an absolute bargain, they are made by a long forgotten British brand, that are slowly making a comeback!
I found all these lovely Denby dinner plates, side plates, pasta bowls and Signature serving bowls & dipping bowls in TKMaxx. Not only were they all less than half the RRP, they were just what I have been looking for!
It’s impossible to miss that this style of flat dinnerware, with a slight lip, is everywhere at the minute. From £20.00 a plate at Anthropologie, to Poppy Deyes aesthetically pleasing foodie blog posts, to most restaurants in the Northern Quarter of Manchester, (Federal Café, below) this style of ‘modern / rustic’ was just what I needed to upgrade my plate game!
I’d all but given up on the idea of having plates like this myself. Then I stumbled across these Denby Heritage plates, in TK Maxx at less than half the RRP! Along with these stunning bowls by Signature.
The fact that they were different colours made it even better! I have been keeping my eye on mix & match style dinner-ware for a while.
Once I got these beauty’s home, I checked online to see if I could buy more. These are from the Denby Heritage range and they are perfect for anyone who’s looking for this modern yet rustic style of homeware. To buy these direct from Denby, it will cost a little more, however there is a Denby Outlet store at the Lowry Centre in Manchester.
To stick with the theme of mix & match, I also grabbed 5 dining bowls & 2 serving bowls, made by Signature. The white and grey patterned exterior & bright patterned interior are just what I was looking for!
There are always lots of Signature homewares in TKMaxx & Home Sense stores, but here’s a full list of stockists. If you’re looking for some new homeware bits, I hope this post helps! We have had these for a few weeks now & the quality is amazing, I couldn’t recommend them enough!
