As you might know, from my Anniversary / most popular post, my blog turned 1 year old, on November 10th and Daisy Grey officially went live on social media, December 1st 2016! To celebrate & thank all you wonderful readers, I did a giveaway of goodies to one reader who follows the blog on WordPress of Twitter, that commented on the relevant post or tweet. Paulina Rios from Barcelona won & should be receiving her goodies soon.
Not only has my blog turned 1 this month, I have been getting very excited for next month, as this will be the first Christmas that I have been a real part of the blogging community. I can’t wait to share all the great posts, I have ready for you! I am also taking part in Steph’s World Christmas Q&A post, along with lots of other amazing bloggers. Make sure you have a look at the Daisy Grey Twitter & Instagram for more details in December!
There are four things which have really stood out for me this month, which might be perfect for you, if you need any present ideas or are just getting ready for the festive season! (links included if you fancy some easy online shopping!)
The Body Shop perfume
My tastes in perfume have changed recently and I have been loving the more simple & natural fragrances. However, these aren’t always budget friendly! So, when I saw that The Body Shop had released new perfumes, with simple & clear scents, I thought I would give it a go. I literally have worn it everyday since! This perfume is stunning and a perfect musky/spicy scent for winter! For £28 it’s well worth the spend, after a month of use, the bottle is still almost full. As the fragrance is strong and lasts a while, I don’t feel the need to use it again & again, throughout the day (the sign of a good quality perfume). They have a few scents in this range, which are sweeter or more floral, so if you want a good Christmas gift, that’s budget friendly head to The Body Shop! Buy it here.
Although my White Company Winter candle will take centre stage for Christmas, I have been loving the Dunnes festive candle range this month. For £5 each, these 3 wick candles burn reasonably slowly & have a great scent. Although they aren’t as strongly scented as most, on looks alone, they are worth £5! The forest green & deep red frosted glass looks festive & a lot more expensive than they actually are. Dunnes stores aren’t that common anymore, but they do have an online shop and the homeware section is well worth a look! Buy them here.
The perfect H&M jumper
Last month my lovely boyfriend treated me to a cosy knitted jumper from H&M and I think he’s now regretting this decision. As I now wear it a lot. And I mean a lot!
This gorgeous star jumper has become my best friend over these last few dark & rainy nights. It was a bargain at £17.99 and was worth every penny. It is super cosy & soft, which is perfect as its really oversized. I got a small and it’s still huge on me! They might have some left in-store, but its not available online any more.
Over the past few months I have been slowly collecting new decorations for our first ‘grown up’ Christmas tree. My boyfriend and I are a bit older and have a more money than when I was 22, so we decided to start a fresh and get some new decorations. I wanted a good mix of the usual filler baubles & some nicer glass baubles which I can get out every year for many years to come!
I decided on a simple silver, glass and white gold colour theme & I have been blown away at how many great decorations are available! John Lewis, Marks and Spencer’s, Debenhams, The White Company and Zara Home have lots of gorgeous decorations which are a bit more grown up & are definitely the type of baubles I’ll still (hopefully) have in my 70’s!
