It’s that time of year, were central heating, wind, rain & stodgy food can start having a bit of an effect on your skin, especially your face. Here are my 7 holy grails of moisturisers & face masks that I have relied on to keep my skin healthy through autumn & winter. All of them are available on the high street & well worth your money!
Skyn Iceland- Artic Spray
I bought this last year & only really used it during the winter. This face mist is great for using in the morning or on clean skin. It is vitamin enriched & is meant to give your skin a bit of a wake up & boost. I love it because it’s a quick & easy way to give my skin some extra help in winter.
This little moisturiser was sent to me in one of my monthly my Birchbox’s this year. As I try not to use much on my skin in summer (it gets crazy oily in heat) I saved it till winter & I’m so glad I did. I use this at night, before I go to sleep & have definitely noticed my skin feeling softer & getting a lot less dry during the day. As I have quite sensitive skin, I always love products that give intense moisture but still quite kind to my skin.
Oh k! 3 step mask
Over the past couple of years Korean skincare & especially face masks, have become so popular. After trying this mask, I can finally see why. Not only did it leave my skin feeling really cleansed & full of moisture, they are really cute & fun to use. I got this mask at Oliver Bonas, who stock a bit of the Oh k! range. I would definitely suggest you pick one up yourself & give your skin a proper pamper.
This has always been my go to brand for moisturiser & skincare. But specifically the No7 beautiful skin day & night creams. The day cream is light & absorbs really quickly. So it wears well under makeup. The night cream is a bit thicker, but a little goes a long way! For an everyday winter moisturiser I cannot recommend this enough. If you have combination skin, this works really well.
Benefit – pore mask
My boyfriend actually got me this mask last Christmas & I completely forgot about it. I recently tried it & loved it! I have combination skin, so parts of my face can get quite oily, while the rest is visibly dry. This mask really helped draw some of the oils from my skin & although I didn’t notice much difference to my pore size. I think it did help me have a bit more control over my skin for a couple of days.
Garnier – moisture bomb tissue mask
This one basically does what it says on the tin, I first started using these earlier this year & I have loved them ever since. I’ve even managed to convince my boyfriend to use one. This tissue mask really soaks the skin in moisture, while still being quite light in oils. This is perfect for any dry winter skin, in need of some care.
Lush – jelly mask
If you saw my lush post, earlier this year, you will know that I really loved this little mask. Although it isn’t really know for giving moisture, it does cleanse your skin & removes all the days dirt. So I think this is still a great mask to use after your xmas parties or even the night before, to thoroughly cleanse your skin & leave you feeling fresh. I know they have a few different varieties of this mask, so you can find the one that’s best suited to your skin!
