Cinnamon Waffles – How to cheat!

Whether I am going out or staying at home, my weekend breakfast / brunch is something I always look forward too! It is safe to say, I pretty much love cooking all breakfast foods. However, they usually create a huge mess & take a while to prepare.

So when I discovered a recipe for cinnamon waffles, which has only one ingredient, I knew I needed to try it. All you need is a packet of pre-made Cinnamon bun dough & a waffle press!

As I have a very typical British home I, of course, have a toastie maker. Except our little machine has interchangeable plates, so we can make waffles too. I’ve been wanting to make waffles on a weekend for a while, but making them from scratch takes so much time & ingredients!

Start by cutting the roll of dough into 6 sections. Then, place them onto the waffle plates, 2 pieces to each side. One packet of cinnamon roll dough, will make 3 large waffles or 6 small.

Our little machine isn’t very powerful, so I left the dough cooking for 10 minutes. This gave it a bit of crunch, but still fluffy on the inside. After just 10 minutes, you have cinnamon-y, fluffy & tasty waffles!

They are fine to just eat like this, but as its a weekend, I decided to finish them off, with an American cinnamon bun icing. The below recipe is perfect for a 6 portion serving!

  •  14 grams of cream cheese
  • 26 grams of softened butter
  • 1 drop of vanilla extract
  • 10ml of milk
  • 43 grams of icing sugar

When you are mixing the ingredients, if it doesn’t mix together properly, put it in the microwave for 5 seconds. This helps the butter mix a bit easier, with the other ingredients smoothly.

Drizzle the icing over the waffles and that’s it! Perfect cinnamon waffles! (That look as though you have made a huge effort). Enjoy! 🙂
