We are all looking into the new year & for Manchester, it’s going to be a good one! If you live in this beautiful city, then 2017 will keep you busy! If your not a local, then get your short weekend or daytrip planned!
For a bit of ease, I’ve cherry picked what I think the Top 5 things to do in Manchester will be for 2017 & included the links!
Coinciding with international women’s day on the 8th March, Manchester has a city wide event celebrating women.
There are lots of different events being held at Cinemas, galleries & museums across the city. Which will celebrate not only influential & empowered women, but also encourage the feminist point of view, which is equality for both sexes.
There is everything from art exhibitions, lectures to yoga sessions, so do yourself a favour & get googling! There will be something for everyone over these 10 days.
As a proud Mancunian, our city’s support of the LGBT+ community, has always been one of the things I love most about Manchester. This exhibit in particular is to mark the 50 year anniversary of the decriminalisation of homosexual acts.
Curated by people of the LGBT+ community, it is here to show generations past and present, how far we have all come & (in some cases)how far this community still has to go. This will definitely be worth a visit for all types of people. With all the craziness going on around the world, supporting another persons right to love, is now more important than ever.
As 90’s kid who grew up watching the crystal maze & dreaming about collecting my own crystals, we finally have the opportunity!
A replica Crystal Maze, which has been set in London, is moving to Manchester! With replicas of all the time zones, you and your team have to play the game to get to the final dome!(inner child is screaming)
I appreciate that getting tickets to take part, will be a challenge on its own. But, if you can get some tickets & get your own team together, then this will be a dream come true for most of us!
This is a day to put in your diary! A celebration of the city and all its given to society, whether that’s through engineering, art or food. With parades and different events going on, all around the city, there is something for everyone.
The thing I’m most excited about is the food! There will be street food vendors across the city & if you’ve never been to a Manchester food festival then you are missing out! Fingers crossed we get a sunny day!
This is actually a new one for me, after looking into what’s going on around Manchester for 2017 I found this festival, which I thought definitely needed sharing! This is a festival that is held at Jodrell Bank & this is its second year. A celebration of music, science & art over 3 full days.
With interactive art installations & live music, this sounds right up my street! As a kid who spent most of my time looking at the stars, I can’t believe I’ve only just discovered this! If you can get tickets, then this will be worth a trip this July. Enjoy it before everyone else catches onto this festival too!
