If you’re looking for unique gifts to give this Christmas, then there are three shops in Manchester that you have to visit!
Oklahoma Manchester – High street / Northern Quarter.
If you follow my blog on Instagram (@daisy._.grey) you will already know that Oklahoma is one of my favourite shops in Manchester. Oklahoma is filled with really eclectic items, I guarantee you will find something you will love in this place! The best part about it, is the price tag. The majority of things in Oklahoma are really affordable.
They sell everything from jewellery to fruit tea’s. Although they do have an online shop, I encourage you to visit the shop, I spent over an hour looking around the first time I found this place. The interior of the shop itself is so beautiful!
The online shop refines items by product & designer, so if you find a designer you like who sells here, you should be able to find more of their products online!
Manchester Art Gallery Gift shop – Mosely street.
Art galleries may be boring to most people but their gift shops are usually the best place to find unique and locally produced craft & artwork. Manchester Art Gallery is no exception!
If you have a friend who is interested in the arts, then this is the shop for you. They stock a wide range of books on nearly all types of art and they also have a great selection of high quality notebooks, stationery and wrapping paper.
Dependent on what temporary exhibitions are on at the gallery, the shop also has a small section which changes for every exhibition. Currently, in the gallery, there is an exhibition which is all about Japanese design in fashion, art & interiors. At the minute, they are selling homeware designed by Issey Miyake & matte finish plant pots for succulents, air plants & cacti. Which would look great in any home (hint, hint santa J )
The shop also has a permanent collection of jewellery, all made from precious metals, most which are crafted by local jewellery designers. The jewellery all looks unique and well made, the majority of the products also have reasonably affordable price tags!
The John Rylands Library – Deansgate
So I discovered this shop only last month, it may be small but it’s definitely worth a look around! The gift shop has some really unique (slightly weird) books & ornaments which I completely fell in love with!
If you’re looking for a silly secret santa or something for the person who has everything, then this shop is worth the trip!
I bought this great ‘Tattooed Lady’ figurine, it looks just like the old Victorian dolls and she’s covered in old school, Sailor Jerry style tattoo’s. It was an unnecessary purchase, but I love it. It was also only a fiver!
I hope you find the time to have a look at these shops, I know you wont regret it!
